Allow to upload separate MIDI file to MuseScore sheet

• Oct 17, 2016 - 20:49

MuseScore does not support advanced playback features, like microtonal accidentals. It would be great to allow users to upload their own MIDI file that corresponds to their score. This way, no need to put pressure on the MuseScore playback to support all the features that can be typeset.

Even quicker than uploading to Youtube, if you have an MP3. Go to your score page, click "Send to Youtube" in the right hand menu. It will ask you to upload an MP3 and if you want to add the resulting video as an audio source. Press Save. You end up with a video of your score on Youtube, with the MP3 as audio, and on MuseScore.com, your score can be played in sync with the video!

Indeed, adding an alternate source only affects playback on musescore.com. it does not affect the score itself, so anyone who plays the actual score directly - whether using the Android app or downloading it to their computer and using MuseScore itself - will hear the audio generated by the program they are using.
