INSERT CHORD SEQUENCE JUST WRITING THE SYMBOL

Hi, this is Alex from Italy.
My question is the following: is it possibile to write just a sequence of chord symbols (like Cmaj, Dmin7, etc.) and have them played (it can be a piano or a guitar)?
This would help very much if, for example, I want to write just a melody line, and below the staves just write the chords symbol, and finally to hear how it works the melody line with a very simple harmony base, without writing each chord note.
