MuseScore1 Files won't open
I tried to open some old MuseScore1 files today, and they didn't work (I got an error message- it didn't recognize the file). I used to be able to open these MuseScore1 files in MuseScore2. Have I lost them? Or is there any way to get MuseScore1 so I can open and edit them again?

Please attach one of the files in question so they can be looked at. Scroll down to the bottom of the page when you post a message to do that.
You can download earlier versions from sourceforge.net. For example, version 1.3 can be found at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/mscore/files/mscore/MuseScore-1.3/

I looked at my MuseScore folder again and realized I have two copies of many of the files- when I try to attach one of the files here, it says that they are "backup" versions (with a comma in the name: ".mscz,") and cannot be attached. I can still open the non-backup versions (though I'm not sure how or why the backup files came to be), so I think everything's OK.

MuseScore creates the backup versions automatically, in case something goes wrong with the originals. Nothing to worry about, just ignore them but keep them in case something ever 8does* go wrong.
