.WAV?

• Dec 29, 2011 - 23:04

Greetings. I was trying to save a score as a .wav (for publication on musescore.com). I clicked File>Save as...>Wave Audio (*.wav). However, when I do this, it seems to be lost. I cannot find it anywhere (at this point the score is still open). Just to check, I click "Save score to file." It appears to save, so I click "Load score from file...," and it's there . . . as a "Compressed Musescore File."

Am I doing something wrong? Am I just being ignorant? The problem isn't saving it; it's saving it as a .wav

Thanks!

I just tried saving as a .WAV in the same directory as the original file.

Windows asked me if I wanted to overwrite the existing .mscz file, to which I replied: "N o"

It seems that in oreder to save as a .WAV you have to remove the .mscz file extension from the filename after choosing the WAV filetype.

Btw, what does saving in WAV format have to do with posting to musescore.com? Normally, you would just posted the actual MSCZ file - or, use "File->Save Online" to upload directly from MuseScore. I don't thimk there is any way to use a WAV file in musescore.com, unless that feature was added recently.

Wen using save As, make sure you check what folder it is saving to. It doesn't necessrily default to the same folder as the main file. Also, you can't load a WAV file into MuseScore, so it shouldn't show up in MuseScore's file dialogs - those would only show files that can actually be opened by MiseScore. But the file should be present if you browse to the correct folder with your normal file browser.
