Program Functionality
Good Day:
I have recently acquired MuseScore V1.1 and I find it an excellent program for creating scores.
My problem is I do not understand how certain program functions work (or even if they are available). I have read the user guide thoroughly and still can not figure things out.
Two of my questions are:
1. Can text comments be inserted in the score (in the blank spaces between measure lines (staves)? Also, can the scores be set up to print a pre-selected number of measures per print line?
2. When needing to edit or delete individual measures, most times the instructions indicate to select a measure, yet I can not find, in the instructions, how to select an individual measure for edit or deletion (or to insert measures anywhere within the score). Also, in the case of "edit", I am really confused as to how to change individual notes within a selected measure.
Is there, perhaps, a more comprehensive, more detailed user guide for this program? I do find this program so valuable in my composing and teaching others how to play songs.

First of all, can I recommend that you take a look at Katie Wardrobe's beginners video tutorials for MuseScore at http://www.musescoretips.com
There are also other video tutorials around - my series is at http://www.organspider.me.uk/MuseScoreTut.html you can also find them in the HowTo section: http://musescore.org/en/howto - and it wouldn't hurt to do a YouTube search for MuseScore as this is where most of us producing video tutorials host them.
If you are then still struggling, please do not hesitate to post here again.
In answer to your questions:-
1. Text comments can indeed be inserted in between the staves, and also set up to print a preselected number of measures per line, although sometimes you will find that MuseScore will override this setting if it has too much to squeeze into a measure. It is not entirely clear from the docs how you do this, and for this reason I am about to produce a series of video tutorials on page formatting which you may find helpful.
2. To select a measure you just have to click on it - sometimes you may find you have to zoom the view in order to do this. It is immediately obvious when a measure is selected as it will then be surrounded by a blue square box.
There are usually experienced MuseScore users keeping an eye on the forums, so you should get a response within a few hours of posting.

In repsone to your response number two above, NO MATTER WHAT I DO OR HOW MANY TIMES I CLICK ON AN INDIVIDUAL MEASURE, FOR THE PURPOSES OF EDITING OR DELETING, I STILL CAN NOT SELECT AN INDIVIDUAL MEASURE (OR LIMITED GROUP OF MEASURES) for editing and/or deleting. I need more specific directrions as to how to ZOOM THE VIEW TO SELECT AND INDIVIDUAL MEASURE (OR SMALL GROUP OF MEASURES). The MuseScore forum should automatically email you whenever someone responds to one of your posts, provided that you haven't deliberately switched that off in your account settings.
Please lete us know if this is not happening.
Oh and you can zoom by selecting the relevant option in the Display menu.

First off, I wish to apologize. It seems that no matter how I submit a support request, I end up hijcaking a bug report. I can not figure out why this is happening, and I hope I am not doing it this time.
Again, I have received several solutions to my problem that I need support for, and NONE of them worked.
Once again, I will restate the problem.
I have a score (attached) that needs to play as follows:
1. Intro - Measures 1-8
2. Verses 1 & 2 - Measures 9-44 (2X)
3. Bridge - Measures 45-60
3. Verses 3&4 - Measures 9-44 (2X)
5. Outtro - Measures 61-72
The last solution that was offered me was to remove the repeat bar lines. Once I did that, the score played through as follows:
Measures 1 - 60, Measures 1 - 44
Measures 61 - 72
I promptly reinserted the repear bar lines, and now the song plays as before:
1. Intro - Measures 1 - 8
2. Verses 1 & 2 - Measures 9 - 44 (2X)
3. Bridge - Measures 45 - 60
4. Verses 3 & 4 - Measures 9 - 44 (This only plays 1X, IT SHOULD PLAY 2X, (for both verses 3 and 4))
5. Outtro - Measures 61 - 72
As you can now see, step 4 needs to play 2X, and it is only playing 1X.
I tried so many combinations of repeats, voltas, etc, and still can not get it right (the way it needs to be).
PLEASE HELP!

The problem that you have is that conventionally a Dal Segno does not follow repeats, and this is why you are only getting verse 3 and not verse 4.
The simplest solution would be to use copy and paste to insert a copy of bars 9-44 after the bridge and before the outtro. The repeats will then play back properly. and then run stgraight into the outro.

Two ways to select a measure:
1 - Click in an empty part of a measure. Depending on how much you have in that measure, it can be difficult to find an empty spot to click into, thus ChurchOrganist's suggestion to zoom in to better find an empty spot.
2 - Click on the first note in the measure, then shift-click on the last note in the measure. This is preferable to me because it also works with multiple measures - click on the first note of the first measure, shift click on the last note of a later measure. The measure/measures you select should have a blue box around it.
