One score is out of tune by a half step

• Jul 2, 2025 - 22:03

I have seen many people have this issue, and it has to relate to speaker issues, or issues they fixed without knowing how...

But I have ONE score, ONE, that is written in B flat, but sounds in B. I have another score, also in B flat, thatr sounds in B flat. It's clearly not a playback issue, because then both scores would be out of tune. What is causing this issue?

So , it is assumed that there is a problem with one of the scores. Post the scores (normal one and problematic one) so that others can take a look.

Chill out, dude! We're all just users like you. Nobody here works for Muse.

So, as @bobjp said, both play in Bb on my machine.

I note that the Ganymede has two extraneous measures at the start. In the first, you have the B major key signature, a 4/4 time signature, and no notes. In the second, you change to a Bb major key signature, but still no notes. Finally, in the third measure, you change to the actual 6/8 time signature and the notes begin. Might be worthwhile removing those measures and see what happens? (Purest guess! :-)

I encountered similar out of tune issue recently when adding bends to a D standard guitar part. The result was that the instrument started playing as if it wasn't downtuned, one whole tone higher than written.

Could be related, or could be a separate issue, but thought I'd mention it anyways since I happened on this thread
