Solid and dashed lines between fingerings (also notes)

I frequently use a straight line from the lines palette to create a line linking two fingerings; I'm not aware of any other mechanism for this. It takes a lot of work to meet (for me) a common requirement, and of course the resulting line won't move or resize in helpful ways. I can see that this might be hard to implement, but the need exists. Style settings should control the amount of space at the endpoints.

A similar need is for a line that connects two notes.

On a related need, the existing dashed line format would be more useful if we could vary the spacing of the dashes. The current dashed line is quite tight.
