Play from score mode
I find it useful playing and teaching to set Musecore to playback with the sound muted. I then have a very visual metronome. Snag - if there are multiple pages MuseScore doesn't turn the page until the last possible moment, but a human player alway needs to read a little ahead. Could playback be modified so that MuseScore always has the next line to be played on the display as well as the current one?

There are definitely a number of areas for improvement in terms of using MuseScore for real tome playback as a practice tool, amd a coiple fo other threads containing similar suggestions. So hopefully someday.
One thing you can try for now is playing with different page size settings. I sometimes like to set the page to be a very short - just enough for ome system - but very wide. Then the music scrolls horizontally. i don't kmow if this works for you, but it does have other benefits I occasionally find useful. Or, if that doesn't work so well, you could try keeping the page width as is but make the page very long.
