Realistic instrument sounds and Battery percussion with correct sounds in MIDI files.
I was wondering if there could be an update for the program to get a more realistic sound to it. Also for the marching percussion, I put some marching percussion in my music and when i saved it as a MIDI file, i played it and the percussion sounded completely wrong. The rim shots where crash symbols the 5 line bass drums sounded like jazz toms and tenor percussion sounds like whistles. So my request is for the marching percussion to have the actual sound to be in the midi file. Also i don't want to substitute any percussion parts with the orchestral percussion.

MIDI files do not save sounds.
They are merely a list of instructions for a MIDI enabled device to play note and controller events.
As I explained in the other thread MIDI is a device-dependent format - a MIDI file generated on one MIDI device may sound completely different on another.
MuseScore uses SoundFonts to generate sound, so the only way to improve sound in MuseScore is to use a SoundFont with better (and thus probably bigger) samples.
If the MIDI device you are intending to play the MIDI file on has SoundFont capablity then you simply load the SoundFont you were using in MuseScore into it. If it doesn't, then there is no way you can guarantee the sounds will be the same.
You are better to use WAV FLAC or OGG formats for playing your music outside MuseScore.

Michael

See the Handbook (the online documentatin) for info on how to install different soundfonts, and for some suggests on soundfonts to try.
