How to redefine keypad shortcuts

• Feb 5, 2012 - 20:11

Hi,
I'm using Vista Home Premium and Musescore v. 1.0. I would like to change the definitions for the keypad numeral shortcuts to match what is used for Sibelius keypad, i.e, pressing numeral 4 on musescore enters the eighth note mode and I want it to enter the quarter note mode. When I go to Preferences then Shortcuts then select the line I want to define, it tells me that the shortcut I wrote in is already in use. I need a clear step by step instruction of how to do this if possible. Thanks.

Hi Robert Leleu,
Perhaps I wasn't clear in my post, but please reread as I said I have already gone to Shortcuts in Preferences and was unable to redefine. Can you give me a step by step that doesn't give me the result I stated in my post?
Thanks.

If you try to define the key "4" to mean quarter note, and MuseScore tells you that "4" is already the shortcut for eighth note, then you just have to go to eight note and remove "4" as the shortcut for that (by hitting "clear"). first clear the old shortcuts, then enter the new ones.
