Tenor Drums, Bass Drums, Snare Drums Playback? Marching Percussion

• Dec 3, 2016 - 00:48

Hi, I'm trying to write a piece for marching band (in order to help out my friend).
I tried my hand at this a few weeks ago— and had no issue.
Now, however, the marching snares, tenor drums, and bass drums, have a synth or keyboard playback with actual notes and even whistles, and i can't figure out how to make the playback normal again.
Did I click something or change something by accident or is it a bug and if i did something wrong, how do i fix it?

Most likely you are either using an older version of MuseScore, or are using a score created with an older version of MuseScore, or are using hacks that were originally designed for older versions but are trying to use them with the current vetrsion. If you are using the current version of MuseScore and created the score with that version using default settings, it should just work.

In order to help further, then, we'd need to know what version of MuseScore you are using, what version of MuseScore the score was created with, and whether or not it was created using the hacks that were formerly required to use marching percussion. Also whether you are trying to use something other than the default soundfont. Attaching the score itself here would be most helpful as well.

Hi—
You were right, though I am using the current version of MuseScore, i was using a modified soundfont. It was still FluidR3Mono_GM but I had added a few instrument sounds using Polyphone soundfont editor in order to have better playback in another piece I was writing. I don't need those anymore, so I switched back to the original soundfont and the drums are better now. Thanks for your help!
