Display Not Working

• Dec 19, 2016 - 06:01

Hello,
I was working on a composition on MuseScore earlier, then I decided to put my computer to sleep to take a break. When I came back to work on the composition, I couldn't see anything except the Start Centre and some of the palates I had open earlier (before I closed them). When I open it, the first thing I see is the Start Centre, and I'll try to open any of the scores I have on file and see absolutely nothing pop up. I've tried resetting the factory settings, restarting the computer, restarting the app, force closing it, changing the settings for how the app runs (then reverting them back when that didn't work), using the "Repair" option (from the MuseScore setup wizard thing), reinstalling the app, and absolutely nothing I've tried works. I'm on a HP computer that runs Windows 10 and I use MuseScore 2.03. I looked on the forums and I tried out what other people suggested, but nothing seemed to work, though I hope I'm not overlooking something... Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?
Thank you!

Update: Just tried removing every MuseScore file from my computer, shutting it down, and waking it back up. That did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. I have no idea what is going on. Some feedback would be appreciated because I would like to get a composition done for someone before Christmas.

Did you try Help / Revert to Factory Settings? Or are you saying you don't even see the main window behind the start center? My best guess is you moved it offscreen somehow previously, and it's trying to open in the same location now. This happens with some of the sub-windows sometimes, but I've never seen it happen for the main window. If you can't run Help / Revert to Factory Settings, see the Handbook for the manual approach.

I'm saying I can't even see the main window behind the start centre. Not sure what you mean I moved it off screen... When I hover over the MuseScore icon, after navigating off of the start centre, it shows a white rectangle with the score name above the rectangle (similarly to how if you hover your web browser icon, it'll display a page you're on and the name of the page on top of it), and then I hover the rectangle, I see the outline of the score window but it's transparent-it shows me the desktop instead. I wasn't able to get a picture of this. I tried manually reverting to the factory settings yesterday, but that didn't work.
