"Key" or "Legend"

• Feb 28, 2012 - 06:33

I'm looking into writing out a "Key" or a "Legend" for a part. More specifically, I'm trying to write a custom legend for percussion, like shown here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Percussion_notation

Would anyone know how to do this, and if so would like to help me? Thanks!

Actually, no there isn't. I think I was just looking for a better way of writing out a legend to place at the beginning of a piece of music. Atm, all I can think about how to get that done is editing the staff in a way that would only cause it to look funny. No, I have not tried doing it, but with as much knowledge I have gained from using it and learning here from the site, I can't think of an easy way of doing. Also, I'm pretty sure the rewind button would notice the legend as the first staff, which it wouldn't.

Anyway, I'm not worrying about it anymore, I'm taking another route. But, for anyone else who are possibly interested in this, It might be a good idea to try to explain an easy way to write out a legend.

Note: I've also started playing in a bell-choir at church, and I notice that all the music that we read all have a key, or legend, at the beginning of each part notating which bells to use and which of those bells are shared. So, just some ideas to go off of, I suppose.

Thanks!

Edit: Also, I'm sorry. I was really tired when I originally asked the question. Won't ever do that again. XD
