Many separate JACK MIDI channels

• Mar 17, 2012 - 01:27

Hi,

I found musescore yesterday and it's awsome - thank you.

I have a problem.
I want to use VST to have better sound. I use JACK MIDI to go to VST host. ("Chainer")
But it doesn't work, because all tracks from musescore are in one channel.

For example everythink sounds like piano or any instrument i choose vst.

Could you tell me how to separate this channel so that every stave is in separate channel so that trumpet will have its own VST and piano its own etc.

Thanks!

I don't know the answer to that, but I do know you can install better soundfonts than the one that comes with MuseScore. I rather like the one called FluidR3. It's not *as* good as Garritan or the like, but it's not bad at all.

"I want to use VST to have better sound."

VST is a sample set format, just the same as the SoundFont format is.

VST will only give you better sounds if you have better sample sets available.

Likewise, there are excellent sample sets available in SoundFont format.
