Layout fixed number of measures per staff
Can anyone tell me how to get only 4 measures on each staff? (I want my notes to be spread out further apart across the staff)

If you literally always want four measures per line, the eaisest way is torun the "Break every X measures" plugin (under the Plugins menu). This plugin by defaultinserts line breaks every four bars for the entire score. But it is also more flexible and can do some number other than 4, and can also work on just a selection, allowing you to have different parts of the score with different numbers of measures. Also, just so you know, you can also insert line breaks manually anywhere you want: see http://musescore.org/en/handbook/break-or-spacer
