Select both notes and rests with 'select same voice/staff'

Unless I am missing some obvious feature, there is no way to use right-click/select/more/'same voice' to select both notes and rests. So I have to perform two operations if I, for example, want to select and delete everything in a particular voice. It doesn't make sense to me that the default behavior of this selection tool is to select either notes or rests but not both.
