Exercise Template?

• Feb 8, 2017 - 12:15

I've tried to create an 'Exercise' template consisting of 8 bars, 1 system per line - for exercises. Things like scales, sight reading, improvisation and such like. However, the loaded template doesn't recreate the number of bars per system, double bar line at the end of the system and other things I've edited that I don't wish to redo each time I want to create a new page full of exercises.

It would be really great if there was a template for exercises of 4 or 8 bars per system that would have a double bar line at the end of each system and stop courtesy key/time signatures etc - or that we could somehow create templates like this so we didn't have to waste time on layout and settings.

At the moment I've created an exercise score, I load it up and do a 'save as' to create a new score based on it. There is always a danger that I save over the template though and although that should be an easy fix, the convenience of loading up a new exercise from the wizard, renaming it etc would be a great help.

None of these are taken from a musescore file that is being used as a template file, just its style settings and the set of instruments.
To prevent that a "Save as" gets forgotten and instead a save over is tried, use the OS's means to write protect the file.
