Although the UK office is closing (the country it originated from), I don't think it is altogether? See Rhinegold .
It comes few days after MakeMusic's announcement about a proposal to acquire its operating assets?
Although I support MuseScore, I don't think I'd want to see either of them disappear.

Nor would I as there would no longer be commercial products to act as a benchmark for MuseScore's achievements, aside from the redundancy of programmers.
Apparently, the news about Sibelius's came before Finale (I stated otherwise) :).
