Chord Trill Extends (MS 2.0.3)

• Feb 21, 2017 - 02:29

Hi.

With a piece I am doing, Bb Clarinet 1 and Alto Saxophone 2 are supposed to trill a double whole note, while Bb Clarinet 2 and Alto Saxophone 1 are to hold it. Each note played is a separate pitch or octave. In the second measure, other instruments come in with melody, and continue beyond the second measure. There are no notes for Bb Clarinet (1-2) and Alto Saxophone (1-2) for the third measure.

However, a pitch from Bb Clarinet continues after the second measure, for the third measure only (the 4th measure, the pitch drops). This is the note the Clarinet trills to. In this case, they have the trill marking on a C above the staff (meaning they trill up to D above the staff), and the third measure plays the D note.

Interestingly enough, it is only the Bb Clarinet with the trill that holds it.

I have both sets of parts on the same staff per instrument (Bb Clarinet 1-2 on one staff, Alto Saxophone 1-2 on one separate staff), but first parts correspond with first voices (Blue), and second parts correspond with second voices (green).

I've tried making a new score, but the error persists. I'm clueless as to what is happening, and why.
