"Line entry" vs. "Chord entry" modes for Midi input

• Jul 31, 2012 - 22:44

I hate concentrating on my Midi keyboard, trying to enter a single "line" of notes, only to look up and see that Musescore thought I wanted a couple of chords in there. It's all too easy to leave an old note pressed down if you're trying to work quickly, and one early error can be a pain in the butt to fix.

At the same time, I love the ease with which I can enter chords WHEN I ACTUALLY WANT TO.

I wish there was an option that let you switch between "Line entry" and "Chord entry". To be more specific, "Line entry" would automatically "move forward" with every new keyboard hit, no matter how many fingers are still being held down. "Chord entry" would be basically the same as the current setup.

Note: I apologize if this idea has already been addressed or requested. I double apologize if this feature already exists in Musescore (I even made this other post asking if this feature already existed). Whatever the case may be, it's a very difficult topic when it comes to picking the right search terms.

Thank you.
