Save Online Error - Cannot get request token [Unknown authentication method]

• Aug 18, 2012 - 04:51

I hope that this is the correct form to post this in. If not, moderators, feel free to move it.

I encounter an error message whenever I try to save a score online (File -> Save Online...). I am attaching a screen shot of the error message.

I have not saved online before, so I never went through the first time authentication steps. The first time I tried to save a score online, I was given this error message. Even after logging into MuseScore Connect and to my MuseScore.com account, but I still get the same message. I have tried uninstalling MuseScore and reinstalling it, but that did not fix the problem.

I am using MuseScore 1.2 and running Windows 7.

Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.

Coud you delete C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\.musescore directory and try again? (Note that it's a hidden directory, you might need to show the hidden directory, if you don't know how, read this article

Do you have a firewall running?

I don't seem to have that a .musescore folder, even after showing the hidden directory. I tried deleting the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\MusE folder, but that didn't solve the problem.

I don't know if this is useful information, but I have tried running MuseScore from Portable Apps, and I still get the same error message.

No, I am not behind a proxy server.

I tried opening MuseScore from Portable Apps on another computer. (The computer is on the same network). And it worked fine. I was able to Save Online. I still can't figure out why it won't work on my computer, though.
