How do I set up a "software" piano keyboard as the midi input?
I downloaded this siftware
vmpk.sourceforge.net
it doesn't seem to work as the input as a midi device on musescore. Is there anyway to coax it into accepting it as with any other midi device?

Not sure, but - are you aware MuseScore has it's own built-in piano keyboard? See View / Piano Keyboard (or press "P").

Yes. but it doesn't seem to have a keyboard shortcuts for entering the notes. On that software I posted I can play the note using z s x d c f v g b h etc for the entire keyboard. If you look at the keys on the qwerty keyboard it makes intuitive sense.
it's so much faster than entering using your mouse once you get used it

You don't need to use the mouse with MuseScore - you can enter notes directly via the computer keyboard. And yes, it's much faster than the mouse.
