Dynamics

So... I have a lot to talk about here...

Anyways, I find that some dynamics don't work:

  • Sforzando (sfz) doesn't play as shown in the test file below. I found it is supposed to mean "sudden accent". Yet this does NOT happen in the test file.
  • Fortepiano (fp) doesn't play in the segment of Beethoven's No. 8 "Pathetique Sonata" first movement. This is in the very beginning of the development section (in sonata theory) when he switches from C minor to A minor using the G minor - B major - E minor modulation.
  • Forte (sf) also doesn't play in the other two segments of the first movement.
  • All the other dynamics that are NOT pianississimo, pianissimo, piano, mezzo piano, mezzo forte, fortissimo, or fortississimo do not work.

All I'm asking is for these dynamics to be fixed technically, not aesthetically.

Dynamics playback only works for "traditional" markings that are designed to affect all notes from that point on. sfz isn't that type of dynajmic, it is designed to affect one note only,. For that, instead use the Inspector to get the playback effect. Someday we may also implement an automatic playback for dynamics like this. Same for fp. But for now, just use the Inspector.
