Create a break line between two 16th note

• Apr 9, 2017 - 02:36

Hi,

I tried to create what in the "black circle" to "red circle". Tried to change the mid note with 8th note but the third note would disappear. How do I get the "red circle". This score I scan it with photoscore. Please refer to the picture.

Not quite sure what you are asking, but to enter what you see in the red circle, enter a sixteenth, an eighth, then a sixteenth, and it automatically beams exactly as shown. So:

1) select sixteenth as duration
2) enter first note
3) select eighth as duration
4) enter second note
5) select sixteenth as duration
6) enter third note

The beaming will do what you need automatically.

To enter what you see in the black circle, first enter the notes and rest, and then change the beaming. So

1) select sixteenth as duration
2) enter first note
3) enter rest
4) enter second note
5) enter third note
6) exit note input mode
7) select rest
8) double click "beam middle" icon in Beam Properties palette

You can actually do step 8 immediately after entering the rest, if you think of it in time. I rarely do :-)

The mid note has to be placed on the 16th rest (as an eighth note). If you place an eighth note on the mid note (a 16th), the eighth note timing overwrites the third (a 16th) note - as you have discovered.

So... if I have understood correctly:
