Load error: Cannot read file

I was working on this piece, musescore didn't crash or anything, I just closed it normally. A couple hours later when I try to open up the file it says "Cannot read file C:/Users/---file path---.mscz:"
My computer recently restarted due to a windows update, I don't know if that caused the issue or not, just something to consider. I'm really frustrated, and I don't want to lose my work. Help!
