Space between staves / systems for differents intruments

• Nov 20, 2012 - 13:18

Hello
Used version musecore1.2 in French

I am using a lot Musecore that I find so nice to use (input notes by either computer or midi keyboard, transpose, text import, midi file import). I am with a problem regarding spacing between systems and staves.
I have a score with a system made of :
- 4 voices on 2 piano staves (2 keys) and text in between
- an organ partition (3 staves)

The partition comes with 6 sheets which is too much (an original score is on 4 pages), More I do have a big space between 2 systems (piano + orgue) which I want to reduce without reducing the space between staves for the piano as it s already full with the text.

I have played on
- "spacing"in the "page layout" (mise en page) (e= 1,6 + stretch in menu style/ measures space=1)
- reduce the spacing above and below the staves "Styles" menu "edit styles / pages"
- reduce the spacing between system
But then when I do apply this, I don't see any effect except on the 1st page. What do I need to do?

I have also played on the "page filling" (set to 80%) but then I come with very close sytems (spacing between ystems is 4,e) and big spaces between the piano and orgel

Thank you for your help.
I have put a pdf of the 2nd page as it comes.

I will also post request regarding the input of texts for songs (new features)

Marie

Seems like you added lyrics to he 2nd staff, and then move it to above the staff. MuseScore still reserves the place for that lyrics line below the staff but not above, this may be causing the problem you see.
Wouls be helpful of you#d attach the score itself rather than the pdf.

Yes this is true I added the lyrics after and then move some of them boven or below as some of the lyrics belongs only to alt or tenor or sopraan. (I did not found how to set lyrics boven a stave) Most of the text is common and this i why I did this. Mostly the text is attached to alt and then on speific places attached to sopran or tenor or.. and then moved.

My problems comes may be from this but it is more how I can manage the spaces between the piano and the organ (these 2 are one system) and between systems in order to have 3 ystems per page (which is on the original that I am transposing one tone below).

I have atached the musescore file (it is not finished,,,but) Thank for your help

I'm afraid you've run into one of te formatting limitations of MuseScore 1.2 lyrics can only be entered below the staff, and if you move them they space they take up remains.

My suggestion is that you use staff text ibstead to fake the other part lyrics.

Hope this helps.

Sorry I have been long to answer but thank you for your tip and yes I do think this is the problem; I will submit a request for new text treatment (adding property to text format).

In the meantime I will also try the "texte de portee" (Ctrl T) May be this will be a solution for the problem:

Thank you
Marie
