voices

Hello -

I keep on having problems with introducing a second voice in piano parts.

I've followed (I think) the instructions in the manual, and gone back to the beginning, clicked on the 2nd voice button etc., but it never seems to work in a straightforward way - for example, it keeps on changing the 1st voice part, rather than starting a second voice. Then, if the 2nd voice doesn't come in for a number of bars, it seems to be a little random in putting in rests until the appropriate point. Does one have to go right back to the beginning to introduce a voice, irrespective of where it starts in the piece? And are there any tricks I am missing? It always seems to eventually work by luck rather than judgement on my part.

Thanks in advance

Chris

I find that to enter a second voice with 0.9.4 I do the following. IT works per bar you dont have to go to the start to enter a second voice

Put in the first voice
Click on the first note of the first voice in the bar
Click on 2nd voice select
Click on Note Entry N
Use the mouse to add the first note of the second voice (or spacebar for a rest- you have a green note on the cursor
then use the key board to enter the rest of the bar/s. You can enter rests etc for the second voice as normal with the spacebar .
When I have finished I drag the rests to tidy the bar if needed
