Colour scheme for 2.0

• Dec 29, 2012 - 20:36

I've just been reading back on style issues for 2.0

I gather that the dev team wish to change the colour scheme for MuseScore 2, which is quite a reasonable thing to do.

I personally find that the current default dark style is unpleasant to work with - too depressing, and the contrasts and shadowing of the icons do not show up properly, and I know there are several other users who feel the same way.

So, I'm suggesting a couple of ideas for colour schemes which I think might be better, and which I'll play around with first before submitting.

1. An ivory UI. This will look quite different from the current 1.2 interface, whilst keeping a light colour scheme which also suggests the colour of manuscript paper.

2. A pastel blue UI. Again this will look completely different from 1.2's grey, whilst keeping a light colour scheme, which will be easy on the eye. (That's why the sky is blue :) )

Let me know what you think.

Absolutely consent! I really dislike this dark surface. - When I opened the nightly, my first interest was to change this color. But this is impossible, because within a light surface you cannot distinguish the white symbols for the note-entry.
But ivory or pastel blue? I prefer to leave the program without any color. Why not leave the surface like it is now in 1.2? Must it really change?
Perhaps it could be adjustable by the user?

I don't know what to change it to, but I agree with ChurchOrganist about 'dark', hence why I have it on 'native' (I'm using Mac 10.7.5 primarily).

There was an overall re-design of the interface planned, so that may tie in with this colour scheme issue.
