Playing the score

• Feb 13, 2013 - 21:27

Hi!
I believe that play is made uncomfortable.
I set the cursor to the place where I want to start. If you press Stop, the cursor moves to the beginning of the score. It would be nice if the cursor moves to the place where I set it first.
Thanks.

Usually, playback *does* start with whatever note you click before pressing Play. But there is a bug where in certain cases (mostly after an edit, and only if playback of repeats is turned on) it doesn't start at the right place. Workaround is just to try again (so it's not right after an edit any more) or to turn off playback of repeats.

Ooops, should have read more carefully. Not sure what mean, then. When hit stop, then start again, playback resumes right where it left off, whihc is as I'd expect.

Maybe this problem only for Linux.
I use mscore from repository (commit 86c84800fc99cd34bc24a7a60bc523428284bf1b),
Linux 3.2.0-34-generic #53-Ubuntu SMP i686
Even noticed that after you press stop, and then start (once), then the score will not play. The cursor blinks once at the point where the playback and goes over the top.

Hallo,

I sing the base voice and need to have the soprano, alt, tenor and optionally my base voice played , from small practicing speed to the prescribed speed. I want to practice Missa Loretta by Rihovsky. Is it possible with Musescore?

Thanks for your advice.

Tomas

Thank you. I am fully new to MuseScore. I found it actually through searching Missa Loretta via Google here: http://musescore.com/maestro/scores/68740 . It is good, but I would need to restrict the music to SATB so that I could practice my base voice. Obviously, I would need to practice at slow pace at the beginning. Would you have an idea how to go ahead with this task? Thanks in advance for your answer. Tomas

Click on the download button on this page http://musescore.com/maestro/scores/68740 and choose MuseScore format. Click or double click the file you downloaded to open it in MuseScore (Download and install MuseScore first, if needed). Press i to display the instrument dialog box and select instruments you don't want on the right, then click delete in the middle for each one. Press OK. And you should end up with a SATB score.

Once done, press play to hear only the SATB, go to Display -> Mixer to switch off one of the voices.
