Arpeggio Mark Won't Stay Put Next it's Chord

• May 23, 2013 - 08:52

I created a stacked chord and wanted an arpeggio mark to the left of it. I tried to drag the arpeggio (roll) mark there and it wouldn't stay put. It snapped back to it's place in the palette box. I've used markings from the palette box many times before and have never had this problem before. Any thoughts as to why this is happening? I also tried to drag a fermata into the score and it wouldn't "stick" there either. It also snapped back to the palette box.

Thank you,

Maureen

I usually find that it is better to select the element and then double-click on the palette symbol, as IME drag and drop doesn't always do what you want.

Yes, double click is way easier than drag for markings attached to specific targets. But drag *should* work. The common mistake people make is not releasing while the target is highlighted. It's not enough to drop it in the general vicinity of the target; the target must be highlighted
