Program will not open

I am a new user, version 1.3. Used the program to develop a small score, where it worked fine, then didn't get back to it for several weeks. Now MuseScore won't run at all. System is Win 7 pro 64 bit. Tried a re-download and reinstall, with no results.

I get a flash of the icon, then the screen asking permission to modify the hard drive. Click OK, then it all goes away as though nothing occurred. Task Mgr. shows nothing running.

Have installed Foxit PDF reader since the Muse install, but then reinstalled Muse since then.

Things to try, ideas?




None of this works and I don't have the time to screw with it, so out of here.

Maybe someday when this nice looking program actually works...

The program *does* work for the vast majority of us. I realize you don't want to hear this, but the problem has to be something unique or different your system (or about its user). So if you're unwilling to spend a few minutes helping figure out what is going wrong on your system, no one else is going to be able to do it for you.

Not sure why the program quit working in the first place, but I did a complete delete and still couldn't get it to re-install.

As it turns out, for other reasons(bugs), I did a back date of IE 10 to IE9. I tried Muse install once again with IE9 running the process and everything worked fine, the program is back up and running normally.

I haven't a clue as to why, but there you are. IE10 exhibits buggy behavior for a number of other programs, including preventing an install of both Flash and Adobe Reader. Whatever it was caused the same conflicted behavior with Mozilla as well.
