Pro Account payment

• Sep 16, 2013 - 17:30

I got an "Issuer has refused payment" message when attempting to upgrade to a Pro Account. I called my bank to find out why and it's because the payment is being routed through a foreign bank. My bank blocks all foreign bank transactions as a fraud prevention policy. This block can be removed at my request for this transaction, but I was wondering what foreign bank or country is involved. Anybody know?

Wild guess: your bank is in the USA, MuseScore.com's in Belgium, there is no direct way between them, like it would inside EU.
Apart from that, this question should probably be asked on MuseScore.com

wasn't such a wild guess, more an educated one, as I had to jump through similar hops to get money from the US onto my German account. A partner bank in the US was needed (not sure what the exact term was). In the due courses my bank charged an arm and a leg for the transit :-( so on another occasion I just used PayPal.

Hey hmscomp,

The official answer: MuseScore's bank account is located in Belgium, while the payment provider is located in The Netherlands. Please request your credit card issuer to temporary lift the prevention so you can make a payment to a non US payment provider.
