Tempo changes in 1.3 do nothing?

• Oct 4, 2013 - 00:51

So, I checked the handbook and looked through the forums for folks with the same issue, but I either couldn't find exactly the same issue (most people with a similar problem were using version 1.2) or the issue was closed and I couldn't figure out that the resolution was from what was written.

My impression is that by entering the tempo text with the specific BPS, I should be able to change the tempo in the middle of the song so long as the Play Panel is set to 100%. All good there. So, I tried entering some tempo changes; setting the first tempo default works fine, but the later tempo changes weren't working. I saw in my research that some people could only get it to work after saving the file and then reopening it, so I tried that, and still no go. It enters the tempo text just fine, but during playback there's no change to the tempo. Stumped! Could it be that if I altered the Play Panel first and changed it back before entering the tempo text, that could keep it from working?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :) I have attached the piece I'm working on; if I've done something wrong, please let me know very specifically what I've missed. I read the handbook's section regarding tempo multiple times and I think I followed it accurately, but I could have misunderstood.

Are you talking about the Allegretto marking at bar 133? Looks like the it is set to 120BPM, which is only barely slower than the 128 you start at. So not surprising you don't hear much of a change, no? I set it to 604and it definitely slows down to half speed then. So I think you're doing it correctly, just maybe not hearing the subtle difference between 120 and 128.

Yeah, I know it's only a slight difference. However, even in the Play Panel, it still shows it at 128 and it's not slowing down at all on my end. Weird. I had tried a more dramatic change before that too and got nothing. That's interesting that it works for you, but not for me. I checked for updates as well just to make sure I have the most current version, and I do. =^o0^= That's really odd. I will try putting it at a more dramatically different speed again and verify if it is merely not reflecting the change in the Play Panel and I'm not catching it, or if it is truly not working at all. Just to double-check.
