Copy lyrics

How would I copy lyrics from one instrument (part) to another?

Also on the lyric theme...

I just added lyrics to a song that was 2-3 pages long.
After I added the lyrics the song became 7 pages long!
Is there some way I can get it back to 2-3 pages, like on my manually written copy?

And one more question about lyrics.
Right now I have a vocal part written out in long form.
I would like to add a repeat sign to shorten it up, cutting the lyrics from the second verse and pasting them below the first verse.
I've tried copying/cutting pasting but nothing has worked so far.
Have I missed something easy?

TIA

Thanks Marc.
It's too bad I didn't know about this workaround when I started entering the lyrics for my first part.
I would have used a notepad to first enter the lyrics, and then copy them into my parts.

Regarding the formatting:

When you add lyrics, by default MuseScore adds a certain amlint of padding to create room for them, since the assumption is that there was omly barely enough room netween staves for the notes. If you're sure you left enough room for lyrics and don't need extra padding, you can reduce the lyric margins in style / edit general style / page. But most likely, you'll fimd you really do need at least some extra padding. In which case, something has to give. If you want the same number of pages, you need smaller systems (layout / page settings) so you can get more of them per page, more measures per system (select all, layout / add less stretch) so you can get by with fewer systems, or bigger pages (layout / page settings). Or more likely, some combination of all of these except maybe page size.
