Make a note last longer

Hi all,

First I have a feeling this question has been asked before, however I did not know what to search for.
I'm creating a simple song with musescore, so far I have this:

This works great.
However I want the lower 'e' note to last for 'one and a half' count while the other notes stay in the same position. Could anybody help me in this matter?

I hope my question was clear and I would appreciate any help :)

copy all notes after the note you want to change in the buffer (click first note, shift-click last note, Ctrl-C), change the note and paste the buffer (click first note/rest after the changed one, Ctrl-V)

MuseScore doesn't have an 'insert mode', just a 'replace mode', and indeed your feeling was right, this has been asked numerous times ;-)

If I understand, you don't want the other notes to change their position.

You will need 2 voices, one to notate the dotted quarter and the other to contain the remaining notes.

See voices here: http://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices

You will need to "make invisible" the resulting extra rests. Right click on them and select the "make invisible" option. You can select a number of rests by using Ctrl-click and make them all invisible in one operation..
