Percussion sounds
I am arranging a piece for marching band, and all the notes I write for percussion are different piano notes. It sounds really bad when I play it back and I would love to hear what it would actually sound like with the drums. how do I change the sounds from being piano notes to the actual drum sounds? (Snare drum, tenor drums, bass drums, etc.)

First, be sure to use the current version (2.1)
Second, be sure not to use any third party soundfont not specifically designed for use with MuseScore 2.1. There was one that used to work with a very very old version of MuseScore (1.3); that will no longer work.
Third, be sure to use the marching version if the instruments when setting up your score (or use one of the appropriate templates like "Marching Band" that has everything set up for you).
If you still have problems, please attach your score so we can see what might be going wrong. But probably it is one of those things.
