Arranging for male-voice choir

Male-voice choir arrangements are often in keys higher than in the original music. First tenors' parts are often placed much higher than the soprano part in, say, a hymn (but sounding of course an 8ve lower). If the original Sop part goes no higher than an F, try copying out the original and then transposing it up. Sometimes the original Bass part is not particularly low-lying, and it may be possible to shift the original Bass part in the copy an 8ve lower before doing the transposition.
