A way to get 8va over just one note?
The bracket on the 8va is too long for just one note. Is there a way to squish the bracket? I did it with text but of course it won't play that note an octave higher. And the text goes into the next note so I don't know if it's going to be confusing. Ok I just centered the text but it's actually to the left. Annoying.

Could you post the score, or a sample of the section that's a problem?
Place the 8va from the Lines palette. Note the dashed red line that appears indicating where the 8va will be anchored to. Double-click on the 8va. [Shift]-[Tab] then click the left arrow a few times to line up the left side of the 8va. [Tab] then click on the left arrow a few time to line up the right side of the 8va.

It was double click I didn't get. So that's good now. What about if I need it to go into the next line? I tried the same operation but it didn't continue into the next line.
