muting parts

• Mar 2, 2014 - 05:00

how about being able to mute parts of a score. i play the flute and maybe there is a second flute and i don't want to here that one while i'm practicing the music. or if there is a horn that is drowning out part and you would like to here the one part. when i am playing from a sheet i don't listen to the other parts im focused on the sheet and keeping count.

no im talking about playing back someones sheet music. say they have 2 instruments on the sheet a flute and trumpet. you can't hear all the flute parts cause the trumpet over powers it. i would like to mute all of the trumpet not just a note. and not when im creating a sheet this is when listening to someone sheet they already put out there.

I second that suggestion. In a score on the web site, I want to include an extra part for reference only, but not have it play back.

Perhaps, under "I" (instruments dialog box), next to the current "Visible" checkbox, MuseScore could add a "Play" checkbox.

Alternatively, the checkbox could be in the "Staff Part/Properties" dialog box. That would be even better, because it would apply to a single staff, rather than to a grand staff.
