Docinho de Pimenta - Asking for reviews

• Sep 2, 2017 - 07:09

Hi, people, my name is Alexandre. I'm new in the forum, this is actually my first post. I hope it's ok to ask for a review without previous involvement.

Well, this is one of my first compositions. It's called 'Docinho de Pimenta' (Pepper Candy). It's piano, string quartet, tenor sax and flute.

I'm a beginner, so I don't have any clues on cadences, harmonization and stuff. I'm starting these studies by myself, with material I find on the net.

I'd like to know what you think of the song. Structure, correctness, overall feel.

Thank you all for the help. I hope you enjoy the tune.

  1. Orchestration, harmonization;
  2. Develop and improve melody (Themes, riffs).
  3. Form

PS: Critics are like this; Try to get used to this situation.
They do not write thinking, development, cause part; they only give the conclusion of the result.
And the composer/creator/writer wriggles, "What does he/she mean?" :)
Of course, this is not something intentionally made.
They think that only the person who reads it follows the steps of their own thinking.

Hey, don't worry about that. It's just that I had really no idea about where to begin. Anyway, your comment made me think about the structure of the song (your item 3). It's the first thing that came into my mind.

Thank you for the help!!! I hope to show off a much better version someday soon!
