Please bring back the recorder family

• Sep 6, 2017 - 00:14

Hi

Just downloaded Muse Score 2, having used version 1 for many years to do my composition for recorder groups using all the different shapes and sizes of recorder from garklein sopranino to contra bass.

Whilst version 1 had its limits, it could generally cope with most of the scoring demands I put on it. Muse Score 2 has some great additions, but it doesn't have any of the different sizes of recorder, meaning I'll have to go back to using version 1 for my basic score work!

Can you please put the recorder family back in to Muse Score?

MuseScore includes lsitings for lots of recorders, they just aren't all listed under the "Common Instruments" section. Type "Recorder" in the search box at the bottom, or switch to "All Instruments", or "Early Music" using the dropdown at the top, and you'll see lots more lsited.

BTW, even if some instrument is not in the list, nothing stops you from using MuseScore to score for it. Just choose the closest thing and then change the name, which in MsueScore 2 is as easy as right clicking the name in the score and choosing Staff Properties, where you can edit the long and short names.
