I cannot set MIDI out on windows 7
Hello, I only have 1 hardware MIDI device on windows 7 and I'm able to use it with no problems in other software, but I can't seem to use it for playback in musescore. I've tried using jack port numbers 1-4 restarting the program each time I change it but I get nothing when I play the song that loads when you start the program for the first time. could someone please help?

Do you have Jack installed? Are you aware MuseScore does not have MIDI out capabilities - it only communicates with Jack, which then must be configured to do the MIDI out for you. Also, if you're looking to improve on the sounds that come with MuseScore, a much easier way is to install a different soundfont as described in the Handbook under Soundfont .
