Crash When Opening File

• Apr 27, 2014 - 06:38

I am currently working on a Finale piece for a musical. I started off the composition in MuseScore 1.3, but tried migrating to the nightly builds for testing the future features of the program. I kept the original 1.3 file, but the nightly build version is the one I prefer.
Anyway, after only one session of working on the piece, I can't open it at all. Everytime I launch the program and attempt to open the file, MuseScore crashes with the far-to-known message "______.exe Has Stopped Working", in this case it was nightly.exe. So, being curious about the problem, I decided to try opening other, only 1.3 files. They worked. Having done this, plus trying every other way possible of opening up the nightly file, I concluded that tere is something wrong with my composition, which I had no clue about, nor did I know how to find this.
I can't guarantee, nor to I think, that anyone else can open this file, but any possible suggestions on problems is helpful.

Which build were you using when you saved the file? The crash appears to be a result of a bug which was fixed a few days ago - hairpin markings (crescendo / diminuendo) were something written to the file incorrectly. I'm guessing your file was created with a build from before the fix. The bug is fixed so files created in recent versions won't have this problem, but files that already have the problem are out of luck.

I removed the corrupt hairpins from your score manually; the attached file should work otherwise. Be sure to download (or compile) a more recent build.
