Optimising Screen Usage for many Instruments with a Panel Shortcut reminder

• Oct 2, 2017 - 18:36

The vertical screen dimension is valuable to facilitate notating many instruments.
When developing scores for many instruments, full screen (Cntrl + U) currently removes/replaces only the top banner.
For increased vertical screen area for notation, I remove 5 toolbars, which MuseScore2 forces me to do one at a time. (I lose Page/Continuous View options which can only be accessed through the toolbar.)
MuseScore2 currently forbids users assigning one shortcut key for all 5 toolbars and full screen display.
I suggest that full screen display Cntrl + U is improved to cycle through:
1. the user’s currently selected toolbars and top banner (the usual startup)
2. top banner removed
3. truly full screen with all toolbars (and top banner) removed
4. every toolbar presented
5. top banner presented
This would be a very useful keyed function cycling through all options.
I am slowly learning the valuable shortcuts. It would also be useful if a panel shortcut was placed on panel banner as a reminder, to save returning to View menu. (Escape only removes some!)

You can assign a short cut to toggle page/continuous view in edit->tools->shortcuts. You can also assign shortcuts to toggle display of each tool bar. Almost everything on the tool bars can be accessed by the keyboard but sometimes you must assign a shortcut your self. I keep the tool bars displayed, which I probably shouldn't because I rarely use any of them except setting the zoom to the exact number I want.

Rather than cycling through all of those options, why not just allow for a shortcut to toggle display of all tool bars. You probably don't want to see all of those any time you toggle between full and normal view. You would have to ctrl+u 5 times to switch from regular view to full screen and back rather than 2 times (one for each direction).
