End key; adding measures

• Oct 16, 2017 - 17:29

1) Sometimes, not always, when pressing the end key in the middle of a piece, the view immediately jumps to the end of the piece. Sometimes it doesn't want to do that, instead when pressing end key it goes to the beginning of the piece. Why does this happen and what can be done about it?
2) Sometimes, not always, when adding say 24 measures the program does so and shows 24 between fat bars, not the individual measures. Then, In this case, when pressing N for note input, the program jumps to the beginning of the piece, and the end key doesn't work so you have to scroll all the way to the end.

Thank you for any explanation and solution.

Danker

Welcome.
Please include as much of the following information
Version/revision of MuseScore you are using (e.g. version 2.1)
Operating system being used (e.g. Windows 7, macOS 10.12 or Ubuntu 14.04)

Add Bars: Append or Insert?

The "24 between fat bars, not the individual measures" is because you have multi measure rests turned on. Toggle it with the M key. If you have anything but a note or normal rest selected MuseScore usually jumps to the start of the score though there are a few exceptions. The way I jump to the end of the score is to assure multi measure rests are turned off, and press End then press ctrl- while scrolling to the mouse so the score is once again visible. If I want to quickly get to the first new measure I press M twice and the first measure of the Multi measure rest remains on the screen.
