Want to import a .xml file, proven in Sibelius to be valid, but can't import to Musescore.

I originally tried to import a musical score .pdf file but got a message that it is incompatible with your free experimental service. I was then able to obtain a .xml file of the same musical score but could not import it into Musescore. There was a message to the effect that it was not a valid MusicXML file. However I now find that it has been determined that this .xml file can be readily imported into Sibelius. So it must be valid. Why can't I import it to Musescore??

I believe I've made a reasonable attempt to learn how to export this native Sibelius file to the MusicXML format, but can't seem to find the right keys to clik on. I have a 30 day free trial with Sibelius but can't even determine what version I have though I'm assuming its the latest. (I doubt they'd give me an old version) So I'm assuming its at least Version 7. I've downloaded a Dolet plug in but supposedly, with version 7 or later, its not needed.

Thanks again for your help. I went there but couldn't get it to work. I got to a procedure to where it supposedly caused a file to be exported. But when I clicked on the Export icon as instructed, nothing happened. In any case, I would think this procedure would be asking for a destination for the Export, which in this case did not seem to be doing that.

I'm not familiar with Sibelius and never used it. There isn't shown any destination directory/folder? My best assumption would be, you'll find the exported file in the same directory as the original file.
Or search for the exported file on your OS to find the destination directory.

(or ask in the Sibelius forum, why it doesn't seem to work ;)

Thanks for your reply. Maybe I'm starting to have success. Based on your suggestion above, i searched a my pc > > > > downloads file that would likely have any file that might apply here. I found a file similar to the .xml file I attached at the beginning of this thread. Only thing changed of this one is that the file extension is .mxl. I went to the MUSESCOre start page and did File>open> Big Boy-David Drazin.mxl. The first page of the transcripted file opens up. THIS IS WHAT I WANT. But there's a problem. Part of the second page is shown to the right of this. But I can't find the remaining pages that should have opened as well. So now, I've been able to get a usable page 1, but no more. Do you have more suggestions? As it is I'll try again to get the complete piece. Thanks!
