How do I do this in Musescore??

• Nov 29, 2017 - 04:04

Hey everyone, see attached pdfs. I just joined this online Orchestration course and I have homework in formatting a score. I am unsure of how I can do the following points in Musescore and would appreciate any help in the matter. Thank you.

  1. Parts of the score ex
  2. How do I create a outlined box around a text item, as in the Instrument name: at the top left of the first page. Also in the instrument changes ex, measure 32.
  3. How do I put the bar numbers below each measure?
  4. How do I increase the size of my time signatures? I also need this done for pdf No. 17 Score. ex. I really really hope Musescore can do this.
  5. Large number over rest measures. Also, how do I insert those large rest symbols? What are those even called?..still can't believe I do not know at the moment.

  6. Score ex.pdf

  7. Pre-records staves are smaller than the rest of the score? Is this possible in Musescore?
  8. LARGE TIME SIGNATURES! They look really amazing.
  9. Bar numbers in boxes below each measure.
  10. "Score in C" in a framed box..nice and tight in the left corner.

Thank you.

Hey Shoichi, what is the best way to create those text boxes, as in the one you did for the instrument name at the top left of the page? I experimented with the ctrl+m option or perhaps the rehearsal mark in the master palette? Also, I'm not sure how you created the large time signature and how to implement those directions which are in red underneath it. Lastly, could you explain to me how you inputted the multiple measure rest with its accompanying number above the stave? Hopefully there is a way that those two things can be done simultaneously?? Thanks

Ciao Daniel, I try to explain...
- Right-click in the Title frame to add more information, you can take a look at an old How to
https://musescore.org/en/node/93581
and https://musescore.org/en/node/24475
many things have changed (for the better) but you can take some ideas.
I clicked in the Title frame, Add/Frames-> Insert Vertical Frame. Then right-click in this new frame to add (Lyricist. in the example Clarinet) a text. Right-click on the text (Clarinet) and choose Text Properties.
In the dialog box there are settings for: Font/Dimensioni/Frames
See text modification, explained here: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/text-editing is obtained by right-clicking.
-large time signature Click the Time signature, press 'V';
Click the first note, Ctrl+T to enter Staff text https://musescore.org/en/handbook/staff-and-system-text
I have inserted 6 and 8 double clicks to select them (as in word processors). You can also use the text bar:
