Preferences with Appimage

• Dec 7, 2017 - 16:17

Hi everybody,

unfortunately, I can't succeed in installing Musescore 2.1 from sources on my Ubuntu 16.04 64 bits.
So, I installed it from the Appimage file and it's OK. (MuseScore*.appimage install)
But I'd want to save my preferences and it seems not to do it.
My ask is simple : how to save preferences running Musescore from the installed appimage ?...

Thank you for your help.

The AppImage doesn't do anything special with it's preference files - they are all saved in the same place as they would be if you had installed MuseScore from a Debian package.

Perhaps you have an old version with conflicting preferences. Try reverting the AppImage to factory settings and then see if you can set some preferences. Go to "Help > Revert to Factory Settings", or run this in the terminal:

    ./MuseScore*.AppImage -F

MuseScore should open in it's default state. Now set some preferences and quit MuseScore. Run MuseScore again the normal way (click the launcher icon or run from the command line without -F) and see if the preferences were remembered.
