Annoying crackling noise while playing sheet music
Hi, I'm currently using musescore under Debian Linux 9 (stretch) with the following kernel: 4.9.0-4-rt-amd6. I'm not using a sound card and I'm just relying on the motherboard (which is a MSI PC mate H87) and I'm experiencing a crackling noise whenever I try to reproduce sheet music. I'm not an expert neither of musescore nor of music software in general, so I would ask you if you know how to fix this problem. I already experienced the same issue with a generic kernel (I had to change to the rt one in order to get rid of the lag I used to have with LMMS).

I’m sorry I double posted because I was getting an error from the server. Please ignore or cancel this thread. I already solved with a nightly build as suggested by another forum member. Thank you very much
If you export the audio of your score (to wav for example) and then use a media player to listen to it; does it also have the crackling?
Also have a look in the Synthesizer window during playback. If the VU-meter goes into red, it means clipping is taking place. Lower the volume slider in the Synth window to prevent this.

Be aware that if you're using a nightly build that has "master" in its name; it'll behave in unexpected ways and is likely to crash. The files it produces when you save your score might very well not open in a future release at all.
If you've taken a nightly from the 2.2 branch, then you should be fine.
