MuseData file format import/export
I read here http://www.musescore.org/en/node?page=3 that MuseScore can import to the MuseData file format (*.md). Yet I cannot seem to get this to work. Does this work at all? Also, does MuseScore also _export_ to the MuseData format?
(This is (or would be) an important feature for the MuseScore, especially for systematic musicology researchers, since so far the other music notation software packages don't yet support MuseData and there quite a trove of public domain scores already encoded in MuseData (*.md) format. As far as I know, MuseScore has an option to import MuseData by File->Open->Select md file.
I don't know how reliable it is.
There is no export feature.

One of the review of MuseScore said there is import as well as export for MuseData.
As for importing MuseData files, I've found that whenever I try it, MuseScore crashes. I've attached a bunch of sample files from http://www.ccarh.org/publications/books/beyondmidi/online/musedata/exam…

I can confirm that they crash in 0.9.5 stable but they open and play without crashing in r.2073 [[nodetitle:Comparison of stable, prerelease, and nightly builds|nighlty]] . MuseScore only imports the top line of the Telemann but it imports both staves for the Mozart.
You seem to know a lot about MuseData are you interested in developing this part of MuseScore?

I guess when you say it what it imports for the Mozart and Teleman, you're talking about the r.2073 build, not the 0.9.5.
I don't actually know that much about MuseData, except that it is one of the formats that is very good for computational musicology research (automated computer data mining of musical scores). There are many works from the classical repertoire already encoded. Also MuseData works well with Humdrum.
Sure, in an ideal world I'd be interested in developing that part of MuseScore (i have some C++ programming experience) but right now I'm knee deep in a doctoral dissertation and other projects. At some point, I'd like to be able to develop and use some data mining routines using MuseData perhaps with Humdrum. Unfortunately I'm not at liberty to it now.
